21st June 2015 at 2.30pm – Guided Walk

GUIDED WALK BEESTON HERITAGE TRAIL CHILWELL & BEESTON VICTORIAN and EDWARDIAN HOUSING ESTATES SUNDAY 21st JUNE 2015 2.30.p.m. This walk begins at the Hop Pole on Chilwell High Road and takes in four residential estates built in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The first is the Cottage Grove Estate laid out in 1848. and then on through the Belle Vue Park (1881) the Imperial Park and the St.John’s Grove Area (1878) The walk will last about 2 hours ending near the old Police Station. Meeting Place: Opposite the Hop Pole. Public Transport: Any Beeston Bus NCT 36 or Y36. Car Parks nearby free on Sundays. Leader: Professor John Beckett Approx 2 hours – 2 mile circular walk.   1. Have to say how much I enjoyed today’s history walk. I have lived in Chilwell and Beeston all of my life and I knew nothing about these estates or the history behind the buikding of the houses. Thank you John for a most interesting afternoon.
