“It is fantastic that exemplary design in the Beeston area is being recognised through the Society ‘s Design Awards. Whilst national, regional, and city-based design awards are common across the UK, it is really important that excellent design is also celebrated amongst local communities like Beeston.”

Tim Heath, 2021 Panel Member, Professor of Architecture & Urban Design at The University of Nottingham

Have you seen building work locally and thought “now that is a great job well done”? Nominate it for our Design Awards 2023 and it could win a plaque!

Whether a full new build, extension; sympathetic renovation work, community-minded street improvements, or some inspirational landscaping – many projects qualify. Shortlisted projects in past years have included street art murals, sensitive contemporary extension of a period property, volunteer-led train station landscaping, and affordable housing schemes.

The process is the same whatever the category: after nominations are received, a band of independent judges are invited, assembled, and taken on a whistle-stop tour of the shortlisted sites. Judges verdicts are then discussed, with projects being rated on a scale, and the winners are announced in an October/November Award event. Winning projects receive a plaque to display if they wish.

Nominating couldn’t be easier – just head over to our page online and fill in the details. Just give as much information as you can, and our Awards team will do the rest!
