We’re delighted that C20 Society is organising fitting tributes to a formidable architectural historian, advocate and local lass done good: Elain Harwood.

Elain, who died earlier this year, was due to be Guest Speaker at our Heritage Open Day main event in September. Her talks and lectures were memorable and extremely popular events. We felt keenly how lucky we were to have been able to net her for it, and were deeply appreciative of the time and assistance she gave in our Local Heritage List work – all testament to her grounded, approachable and genuine nature and the integrity of her commitment to the beauty of post war architecture and buildings. She never forgot her hometown, Beeston.

Remembering Elain Harwood

A special day of events celebrating Elain’s life and work is being planned for Saturday 9 September, to be held in central London.

Casework Fund

C20 Society has established the Elain Harwood Memorial Casework Fund, a designated fund to ensure that the vital conservation work Elain dedicated so much of her life to, continues.

We will circulate further details about this shortly. But if you would like to contribute now, donations can be made by bank transfer to:
