The Society is delighted to be able to support Beeston & Chilwell Garden Trail this year, by hosting their online ticket sales.
As a Registered UK Charity, the Society is able to support other local projects and enterprises in what is referred to as Fiscal Hosting. We have previously done so for projects such as Beeston Light Night, Incredible Edible Beeston, Beeston Repair Cafe, and Beeston Library of Things.
There are opportunities and resources for non-profits which you must be a Registered Charity to access. Examples are a Charity bank account with low or zero fees, free or low cost software; discounts on printing; fundraising and grants; online platforms or apps which manage ticket sales, donations, subscriptions, and even membership. One such platform is Zeffy. Which we use for ticket sales and donations.
What is Zeffy?
It is the only all-in-one fundraising platform with 100% zero fees. From donations and ticketing to raffles, auctions, and donor management. Used and loved by over 100,000 nonprofits.
Zeffy relies entirely on optional tips from donors. When making a payment on a Zeffy form, our donors can choose to contribute to Zeffy or not. On average, 2 out of 3 donors leave a tip. This is enough to cover all their costs and re-invest in the development of Zeffy. It has been working with nonprofits for 7 years and, thanks to this 100% free model, currently supports 100s of thousands of organisations.
Our Decision
The Society’s committee agreed to be fiscal host of the Garden Trail’s online ticket sales this year through our Zeffy account, meaning that 100% of all tickets sales will go to the Trail to divide between its nominated charities this year, and there are no fees to pay. And because there are no expenses to be paid, just income, we feel this is a ‘no risk’ opportunity to help a very popular local event (and the causes it supports) well within our aims and objectives around greening and the natural environment. Plus we’ll be there anyway, with our stall and banners; doing the trail; taking photos and notes of inspiration.
One of our trustees, Tamar, is a co-organiser and the designer for the Trail. Her garden has been on the trail, but is taking a sabbatical in 2026 to have some hard landscaping repairs.
We wish it all the success – hopefully a record year (and no rain?!) – and look forward to seeing you there.
Sponsored
The Garden Trail is proud to be again sponsored by Trowell Garden Centre – a local, independent garden centre, and family business.
